Contact List

The Contact List feature controls who can access a Smartform.
When a specific list is selected, only the people included in that list will be able to open and complete the form.


How it Works

  1. Select a Contact List

    • Open the Contact List dropdown in the Smartform settings.
    • Choose a list from the available options.
    • You can select Standard (no restrictions) or a custom list you’ve created.
  2. Access Restriction

    • Only people on the selected list will be able to open the Smartform.
    • Anyone not on the list will be denied access.
  3. Authentication Flow

    • The participant clicks the Smartform link.
    • They are taken to an authentication page and must enter their phone number.
    • They receive an SMS with a one-time verification code.
    • They enter the code to confirm their identity.
    • Once verified, the Smartform will open.

Use Cases

  • Private forms for pre-defined participants.
  • Internal workflows where only approved contacts can respond.
  • Security-sensitive submissions that require phone-based verification.

💡 Tip:

  • Keep contact lists updated with correct phone numbers — without a valid number, the participant will not receive the verification SMS and cannot access the form.
  • To create or edit a contact list, go to Templates → Contact List in Studio.
